So you ask,
"What is an infographic?" Infographics are graphic visual representations of information, data or knowledge intended to present complex information quickly and clearly. They can improve cognition by utilizing graphics to enhance the human visual system’s ability to see patterns and trends. Infographics have been around for many years. Social media sites such as Facebook, Twitter and Pinterest have also allowed for individual infographics to be spread among many people around the world.
"Infographics break down data visually, helping viewers make sense of complex information. Their popularity has increased with the rise of social media, fuelling the need for instant results by providing content in bite-size, digestible chunks," says mashable.com. Here are a couple infographics that I recently created for my client –
www.jointventures.com I will be sharing more with you as they are created. Please comment and let me know what you think. Also feel free to SHARE these infographics, as you will notice there are some helpful tips and some cool facts!
Facebook is notorious for constantly making changes. The most recent … they will be updating the size and location of your profile image. For most this is no big deal, for others it might very well mean that you have to redesign your cover image.
As of tomorrow, April 26th, the new size of your profile image will be 160 x 160. Luckily, this will not directly affect your current image because your profile picture had to be 180 x 180 to be accepted. That image was then re-sized by Facebook into the current 125 x 125 box (new 160 x 160). The profile picture will now sit 23px from the left and 210px from the top of the cover photo.
Does this affect you? Yes, is does if you have a cover image that lines up with your profile image. Look at Applebee's Cover Photo below, see how the profile image does not line up with the plate of food. This is what will occur.
Comment below if you are looking at having to do a redesign.
P.S. For those that still need to update to the new Timeline Cover Photo, the size is 851px wide x 315px high. The NEW Timeline allows your page to be more visual — if you leverage beautiful photography and graphics that engage and tell interesting stories — you will benefit much more from Timeline than you ever did with the old format. VISIBILITY is key!
